SCAG Awards 10 Scholarships to Southern California Students

SCAG announced the awardees of the 2025 SCAG Scholarship Program at the 2025 Regional Conference and General Assembly on May 1 in Palm Desert. This 15th annual SCAG Scholarship Program provides support and inspiration for the next generation of public servants. SCAG received a record 165 applications from throughout the SCAG region.   

The Scholarship Committee of nine Regional Council members and two representatives from academia recommended that the Regional Council award 10 students with a 2025 SCAG Scholarship Award:   

Imperial County

  • Hudson Burch (El Centro) 
  • Cruz De Loera (Brawley) 

Los Angeles County

  • Elisa Hong (Los Angeles) 
  • Serena Tarango (Norwalk) 
  • Tyler Wu (Walnut) 

Orange County

  • Alexis Schober (Cypress) 

Riverside County

  • Matthew Thomas (Lake Elsinore) 

San Bernardino County

  • Danaya Figueroa (Colton) 

Ventura County

  • Sofia Manzano (Santa Paula) 

The California Transportation Foundation once again partnered with SCAG to provide funding for one additional scholarship award: 

  • Noelle Kim (Santa Ana, Orange County)
